SKYDEX to supply blast mitigating panels for an additional 1,000 M-ATVs

SKYDEX Technologies Inc. will supply blast mitigating panels for an additional 1,000 M-ATVs that were ordered today. Oshkosh Defense announced that it has received an addition $438 million for their M-ATV, bringing the total amount of vehicles to be fielded to Afghanistan to 6,219. SKYDEX’s mission of protecting people and things that matter has continued to grow with their involvement in the M-ATV program. Already in theater in Iraq, the demand for the M-ATV has continued to grow due to the drastic terrain in Afghanistan and increasing threat of IED’s. In a recent interview with Fox News SKYDEX CEO Mike Buchen commented “that if the product can save one soldier than it’s worth it.” (View the complete interview here) Initially awarded on June 30, 2009, the M-ATV program has stayed ahead of schedule and is successfully working to fulfill the demanding need and delivery schedule required by the Department of Defense.
