IMBD Installed On Team Pulsar Quanquari RIB 'Wolf' For Round Britain '08
(Britain) - SKYDEX’s IMBD – Impact Mitigating Boat Decking – is now installed on the deck of Wolf, Team Pulsar’s 8.5 meter Humber Offshore RIB prepared by Quinquairi Marine Wales.
From working closely with military and professional users in the US, SKYDEX Technologies, Inc. has developed an ideal product for high performance RIBs. This sector of the high speed craft industry is very demanding, likes a simple solution where possible and has some clear and present needs.
Justin McInerey of Team Pulsar said, “This is just what we need on the deck of Wolf. SKYDEX has earned its reputation on extreme boats. We expect a broad mix of conditions around Britain. If we end up pushing the boat hard in worsening conditions I know what we’ll be standing on.”
The patented SKYDEX twin hemisphere system works by having two opposing hemisphere bearing upon each other to create a spring-like response. SKYDEX reduces vibration and impact by ‘tuning’ the type, shape and thickness of material depending on the application.
IMBD offers a stable top surface so the crew of the Wolf will not be aware of it at rest or in flat sea conditions. As the sea state changes, IMBD offers protection from the potentially negative effects of the rough water.
