Nikolaas Class lifeboats are a fleet of fast rescue boats used by the KNRM (Royal Dutch Rescue Society). Water jet propulsion gives a maximum speed of 34 knots and provides a high degree of maneuverability, even in shallow water. The solid fender is constructed of PE foam with an extra durable outer coating. Boat length is 9.15 meters and the beam is 3.30 meters. The crew consists of 4 people who sit on jockey seats, with capacity for 20 survivors.

Designed by Dutch Special Marine Group and built at Habbeke Shipyard, Nikolaas Class lifeboats are having their seats upgraded to incorporate SKYDEX Impact Mitigating Seat Cushion Inserts. Hans van der Molen, Technical Lifeboat Inspector responsible for whole-body vibration (WBV) related matters for the KNRM said, "The seats on the Nikolaas class are non-suspension seats, as it is not possible to fit them. We are still aiming to provide our crew with the best protection given the limits, therefore we are using SKYDEX for our sets on these boats."
